Back many years ago students came to Texas A&M University at the old train stop with the Texas and Houston Central Railroad. As the University grew the population in College Station and Bryan grew. As the University grew, the area’s education base also increased. Very quickly College Station was known as “One of the Most Educated Cities” in Texas.
While Texas A&M was an agricultural based education program the University has expanded its program and is now a World Class University. The rural communities continue to feed the University while the surrounding communities of Caldwell, Navasota, Hearne, Mumford and Anderson enjoy the benefits.
Texas A&M University is the largest employer in the Brazos Valley employing over 30,000 people. The Texas A&M System touches far more than just the cities of Bryan and College Station into Prairie View, Corpus Christi, Commerce, Laredo, Tarleton, Kingsville, Amarillo area and beyond which continues to help build our real estate and economy.
Brazos Valley is also known as the Research Valley. On the west side of town is Texas A&M University’s Research Park near the George Bush Presidential Library.
