Running your own business and becoming a Realtor is as simple as getting your real estate license. NOT! Getting your real estate license in Texas is only the beginning. While the license allows you a multitude of freedoms to be your own boss, choose the hours your work and determine your own destiny but being a Realtor takes more. First – find a Broker that is a member of the National Association of Realtors. Choose a broker that has years of experience and is willing to help their agents, provides support and education and has the reputation you want your name tied to.

What is the difference between a REALTOR and a real estate agent? Real estate agents are licensed agents through the Texas Real Estate Commission whereas REALTORS join The National Association of REALTORS. This means that REALTORS are required to follow a 17 article code of ethics. Additionally, in Bryan, College Station, REALTORS work together by using a Multiple Listing Service that allows them to post all of the properties they are marketing for sale so that any REALTOR can show and sell it. This teamwork gives them a strategic advantage and helps you find a home faster!
REALTORS assist buyers in the buying and selling process. They are there for you every step of the way when you are searching for the right home for you.
The first part of the buying process is assessing your financial situation. So step one would be to give your REALTOR a little bit of your basic information. He or she can direct you to local lenders who can help you with your Read the rest of this entry »

Time for a “tail” of a good deed…
Raylene Lewis is notorious around Century 21 Beal for finding stray and lost animals and rescuing them. Friday was just another example of this Realtor going above and beyond to help animals.
Raylene found a beautiful dog lost and in danger on Texas Ave near the College Station police station on Friday morning. The dog was very near being hit by a car so she stopped and picked up the dog. The dog had no collar so she took the scared dog to her vet at Wellborn Animal Clinic. The vet checked out the dog and found no microchip. (and, yes Raylene paid the vet bill)
Later in the day Raylene picked up the dog to try to find the owner. Through Craigslist the owner was found Saturday morning. The owner had lost the dog Friday morning and was desperately hunting. When owner and dog were matched up there was a great deal of tail wagging and tears.
THANK YOU Raylene Lewis for going above and beyond to help this dog and owner find each other.
