Lil’Wranglers was formed in 1999 by Sharon Toups when she noticed that her two children had the potential to begin learning country western dancing. Sharon was part of the Aggie Wranglers organization while in college at Texas A&M. She gathered together a few children and started Lil’Wranglers, modeled after the Texas A&M Aggie Wranglers. Aggie Wranglers is a country and western jitterbug dance group at A&M that performs at various events in the community and internationally. To date, Lil’Wranglers have performed at more than 350 events.
Lil’Wranglers and Aggie Wranglers are part of a deep rooted tradition that is rich in history. It is something that families can share, and parents like Sharon can pass down to their children.
This organization enables children and youth to learn, perform and compete across the state. The individuals involved cultivate a love for dance and spread the spirit of Aggieland wherever they go. The program blesses those who participate and those who have the privilege of watching the performances.
Lil’Wranglers could not exist without the support and donations of local businesses and individuals, specifically those listed below.

While walking through Downtown Bryan admiring all of the different venues, I noticed a new one I had not noticed before: The Grand Stafford Theater. This venue reopened the first weekend in September and has a long list of shows lined up over the coming months. Over 100 people showed up for the opening night.
The renovations of the Grand Stafford are just part of the revitalization of Downtown Bryan that is currently in the works. As new restaurants, bars and venues open up, the area will only grow in popularity, and the artistic culture will continue to flourish.
This historic building dates back to 1910 and has housed concerts and performances for decades. Artists like Green Day, No Doubt, and Lyle Lovett have performed here along with hundreds more. Songs by Grace Kelly and Marlon Brando once bounced off the walls of this structure, but a fire in the 80’s banished Read the rest of this entry »

What do you get when you throw together paint, wine and creativity? A pretty picture! Painting with a Twist is a new local art studio that is the perfect idea for a night out. Have you ever wanted to decorate your house with original artwork? Or have you wanted to save money by making your own painting instead of spending hundreds on a professional’s work? Have you wondered how close you can get to forging the famous Starry Night? Maybe you need an outlet for all that stress from work. Or maybe you just have a desire to slap some color onto some canvas. If you relate to any of this, then Painting with a Twist is the solution that will bring your dreams to life.
The studio’s motto is quite catchy: “It’s a little bit of paint, a little bit of wine, and a whole lot of FUN!” Who does not love paint, wine and fun? Painting is one of my favorite creative outlets. And I do not know about you but I always want instruction when doing something for the first time. This studio has thousands of pieces of artwork for inspiration, materials like canvasses and paint brushes and lessons taught by local artists for anyone in the community who is interested. Customers can pick from the studio’s calendar what picture they want to paint and call in reservations for that night. The lessons will be guided step-by-step, and upon completing your work of art, you can take it home!
